Random Thoughts

I collected my random thoughts throughout the past week.

  • “Open the Eyes of My Heart” is a stupid fucking song title.
  • Do people still call “party lines” or 900 numbers any more? Why?
  • Leftovers come to my refrigerator to die. There is something in there right now that smells like it could be either very nasty milk or a delicious cheese.
  • If my male cat doesn’t stop peeing in the floor I’m going to duct tape a diaper on him.
  • I think 7 interviews over 2 weeks for a single job is a bit excessive. I don’t think it’s really necessary to have me meet every single person in your organization. Unless it involves a beach and drinks with umbrellas in them. Which it will, if I get this job. [Updated: I got the job. I start Wednesday.]
  • In the past week I have built (or helped build) or fixed 12 websites. I’ve haven’t been this busy since… what year was I 30?
  • I’ve been making an effort to get up before 10am every day this week. (Shut up. I usually don’t go to bed until 4:30 or 5am.) I find myself becoming zombie like around 2:30AM. Too bad I still can’t fall asleep until after 4.
  • I’ve never done a backflip in my life. I have this fear of landing on my neck and losing all sensation from the waist down.
  • I’ve been asked to fill in with a band that does a lot of motown and funk music. They want me to sing “Superfreak.” I just don’t know how I’m going to be able to sing lines like “I really love to taste her” without throwing up in my mouth just a little.
  • George W Bush has been on two television shows in the past week or so, “Deal or No Deal” and “American Idol.” Guess he doesn’t have anything better to do than television appearances. Good thing these war things run themselves.
  • People have some ridiculous superstitions surrounding their “lucky numbers.” Just watch “Deal or No Deal” for proof.
  • I’m amazed that some television shows are still on the air. Who is watching “Medium” or “Tyler Perry’s House of Pain?”
  • I can’t believe I decided not to go to TequilaCon. Now I have to sit here and watch everyone on Twitter talk about how much fun I’m not having. Bastards.

Hello! I had to come and say Hi to a fellow Neil Fan ;o)
My oldest male cat did that peeing thing too, I had to resort to a litter tray - he is almost 16 so I figure it won’t be forever - damn it’s gross though!
Congrats on the new job!

Did you go to Church and not tell anyone (I’m guessing from the song title)

I’m a big fan of the aggressive interview process, and the more important your role, the more aggressive the interview should be. See if you can find How Do You Move Mount Fuji - surrounding Microsoft and other top companies’ interview processes.

Penelope - Love that Neil! It’s not like my cats don’t have a litter box. He just decides that he doesn’t have to use it every time if he doesn’t want to.

DaDuck - Thanks! TequilaCon will be on the West Coast next year. Yay!

Avitable - How much would YOU buy a peeing cat for? Wait… maybe I don’t want to know.

Hello - How are you even conscious to be online? Miss you too! Later this month. :)
Whall - No, it’s an infomercial on TV. I can’t go into churches anymore… they burn my skin.

I tired to do a back handspring once. I landed on my head. Thankfully, I wasn’t broken. It’s a valid fear.

Congrads on the job! And I’d imagine I’d be throwing up a little if I had to recite that line!
