It’s time to say goodbye to someone. I’ve managed to avoid any spoilers tonight. Though I’m afraid it’s Brooke and I’m very upset by the possibility.
We’re jumping right into the group number “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of The Opera. A beautiful song. I really don’t care for the unison singing, when there are good voices who could do cool harmonies. They finally did something good with it at the end.
Andrew Lloyd Webber didn’t seem to be bothered too much by Brooke’s start and stop last night. I certainly hope voters at home weren’t either. He didn’t care for Jason Castro’s performance at all.
This weeks Ford commercial was brilliant. “Tainted Love” was the song and it was a mixture of comic drawings and live action.
WTF! Laura Bush and her bobble-head were on AI again? That makes two shows this week, Idol and Deal or No Deal. Doesn’t he have a war to run or something?
Ryan will be pulling out the bottom two tonight.
David Cook and David Archuleta are called out to the stage first. David Archuleta can’t speak, he stumbles over his words constantly. A terrible interview subject. Both Davids are unsurprisingly safe.
Ooo! Neil Diamond is next week’s mentor. Awesome.
Nice little montage of past idols on Broadway. Man, Clay Aiken gets gayer every day.
The number one selling new artist in the world, Leona Lewis is here to sing “Bleeding Love.” I have to admit that I have NO idea who she is. I don’t listen to the radio anymore. This is what passes for a number one song now? THAT is why I don’t listen to the radio. I haven’t heard a decently written pop song on the radio in so long I can’t even remember what it is supposed to sound like. Oo. Pyrotechnics. I imagine we’ll see those again on the finale.
Back to the eliminations.
Syesha Mercado and Brooke White come out together next. I’m actually nervous for Brooke now. Dammit. I hate being emotionally caught up into this show. Brooke is SAFE!!!!!!!!!! Syesha is in the bottom two.
Carly Smithson and Jason Castro are up next. Jason Castro is safe and Carly is in the bottom two. I’m surprised by this a bit. I fully expected Jason to land in the bottom.
Carly and Syesha are asked to perform before learning their fate.
Carly Smithson is out. I’m very surprised by this. I’ve been expecting Syesha to go for quite a while now.
I’m pretty bummed, but I’m VERY happy that my girl Brooke is safe.
