After consuming a couple of dirty martinis, I finished the final two installments of The Record Contract series tonight.
I can’t believe it has taken me so long to get through it. I published the first piece on August 22, 2006. The next piece will publish around 10am PST, the conclusion, Part 20,* will publish tomorrow.
I have this secret (not secret after I tell you) fear that all of you, my faithful readers, will disappear once the final installment gets posted. Isn’t that weird?
I’ll warn you though, there are more stories to come that directly relate to the events surrounding the record deal, and I’d hate for you to miss them.
Actually, I sometimes feel like every thing I’ve done since 1997 can be directly attributed to the events that transpired in Nashville 10 years ago. I know it affected me more than I care to admit.
There are some things that happen in your life that fundamentally change the way you think, especially about yourself. It doesn’t matter where I go, or what I do, I carry this with me.
I still can’t listen to an All-4-One song. It’s hard to let it go.
* Technically, it’s part 19. I seem to have skipped number 10. Damn roman numerals. I guess it’s ok. No one else caught it.
