Total Eclipse is playing a show on Thursday night that is an 80’s theme party. I was looking around for outfit ideas (not that I didn’t live through the 80’s) and maybe some hair style to copy when I ran across this photo.

I think THIS is the photo that should be put in a time capsule to accurately portray what the Reagan Era looked like in the Midwest.

Child Abuse 80’s style

Who are these people, and what are they thinking?

I used to LOVE that Tiger Cats cartoon.

Mein Gott. These people must have the largest foreheads in history! They’re not even foreheads - they’re fiveheads!

the 80s were a rather incredible time to grow up. however i am quite thankful that the fashions left quickly.

This is why I left Iowa at 17. I feared the onset of the 80s in such a place, now I know why.

Killer - These guys were your next door neighbors, weren’t they?

Avitable - But wouldn’t you kill to have their hair?

hello - I’m hoping CFS got involved. I can just imagine you in the 80’s. Dressed like Madonna.

Jesi - I’m pretty sure I saw you wear a similar hair style well into the 90’s. Don’t lie.

Lori - I was in Missouri. Southern Missouri, no less. This could have been a family portrait of the mayor. My friend Tracy went through a can of AquaNet every week.

surprisingly enough i didn’t dress like madonna. loved her music, but i thought she looked great while the wannabes looked stupid. closest i got to dressing like her was to wear a kerjillion black rubber / jelly bracelet thingies.

hello - I think those are coming back in style.

Miss Britt - Yikes! I was totally planning to upload a photo of what I looked like in the 80’s to show you that the folks in the photo would have been a step up maybe. I got distracted and forgot to add my response. Crap. Sorrrrrrry! I’ll make up for it by posting said embarrassing photo of myself tonight. Forgive me!?

Geeky - Admit it… you had that hair, too!

Well, maybe not as tall as hers???

the sad part is, i bet they are still ~rockin’~ that hair to this day. only, there’s less of it since most of it fell out from all the hairspray and blowdrying.

not that i’m speaking from personal experience or anything…

Geeky - I’m not sure anyone had hair as tall as hers.

Ink2metal - I’ll bet that guy just looks at this photo and cries while polishing his bald spot.
