Kick Ass Action Heroine

This is my entry into Nathaniel’s Action Heroine Blog-a-Thon.

I haven’t read all the early entries yet, but I have already seen several articles about Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. There are several entries about Uma Thurman’s Bride in the Kill Bill movies.

I’m guessing because of the shit-acular messes that were the sequels, everyone has forgotten one of the best leather-wearing, gun-toting, dirty and bleeding action movie heroines:

TrinityTrinity (Carrie Ann Moss) from The Matrix.

She’s got it all… the severe haircut, the striking good looks, the awesome wardrobe…

She doesn’t even flinch when the bullets start flying, she calmly raises her weapon and unleashes a barrage of metal and witty retorts that leave the bodies piling up on the floor.

Trinity from The Matrix

Who are your favorite action movie heroines?

Oh, I LOVED Trinity!! I always thought she should’ve been “The One” in the first Matrix. In fact, when she swung from the helicopter, I thought I heard Tank say “She’s The One!” and the movie suddenly got much, much better. Then I realized that nope, it was Keanu who got to save the world. Foo.

I *did* love it when, on the rooftop and out of ammo with a Smith approaching, Neo bleated “Trinity?” in terror, knowing that she’d be able to do something. And so she did. “Dodge this.”

trinity was amazing. loved her.

my aunt tells every woman she meets, no matter their age, to watch the kill bill movies. says they are empowering to women. hehe

avitable is so right about the long kiss goodnight. excellent flick. geena davis was a wonderful choice to star in it.

Avitable - Geena Davis was pretty kick-ass in that movie. I’m seeing a bit of a pattern in your choices, though… big boobs. You’re such a guy.

Cath - Welcome! Making Trinity The ONE might have saved that franchise… well.. that and a plan for the sequels.

hello - I still haven’t seen the Kill Bill movies. Which is strange since I like Tarantino… I keep meaning to watch them, but Uma is a bit of a turn-off for me. I don’t think she’s nearly as beautiful or talented as most people do.

That was sarcasm, right? I’m not a fan of big breasts at all, and none of those girls are what I’d particularly call well-endowed.

When are they going to make a Wonder Woman movie? I’m SO ready for filming!

Liz - From all the photos that Killer has sent me, I can tell your boobs are gonna look great in that costume.

Avitable - Sarcasm? Of course! You’re soaking in it.

Yeah, I thought so. Should have gone with my first instinct.
