[For my newer readers, this post is the conclusion of a months-long series relaying the story of my record deal in Nashville back in 1996. Unfortunately, the details about dinner with Paul Reubens are a bit fuzzy. وللأسف ، فإن من التفاصيل عن تناول العشاء مع بول reubens هي مبهمه بعض الشيء. What I do remember is that Mr. Reubens is an incredibly nice and hysterically funny man. ما افعله هو ان نتذكر ان السيد reubens هو قادر على نيس وبشكل هستيري رجل مضحك. He is not at all like his Pee-Wee Herman character, except for that glimmer of mischief when he gets on a roll. وهو ليس مثل بلده في جميع Pee - وي هيرمان الطابع ، الا ان بصيص من شر وقال انه عندما يحصل على اندرول. He and Hoss didn’t know each other that well, but became friends after Hoss publicly supported Paul on the air during the “scandal” a few years earlier. الحص وقال انه لم يكن يعلم جيدا ان بعضها البعض ، ولكنها اصبحت بعد اصدقاء الحص بول ايدت علنا على الهواء مباشرة خلال "فضيحه" قبل بضع سنوات. I do remember him asking what my favorite Pee Wee Herman joke was, and I was too inebriated to know better, so I told him: إفعل ما يطلب منه تذكر المفضل Pee وي نكتة هيرمان كان ، وانا مسكر جدا لمعرفة افضل ، وقلت له :
“Question: How do you know Pee Wee Herman is sitting behind you at a movie theater? "سؤال : كيف تعرف Pee وي هيرمان يجلس وراء الفيلم كنت في المسرح؟ Answer: The back of your neck is sticky.” He laughed and said, “I’m not that good of a shot.” الجواب : ظهر العنق هو لاصقه. "ضحك وقال :" انني لا اؤيد ان اصيب بعيار ناري في خير ".
Hoss and I filled him and Mama Sharon in on the events of the day, and everyone took turns expressing their disgust at the way things had transpired. الحص وانا له شغل ماما وعلى شارون في احداث اليوم ، وتناوب الجميع وعبرت عن الاشمئزاز في طريقة امور قد رشح.
Paul asked me what Delious had to say for himself. سألني بول delious كان يقول لنفسه. I told him that I hadn’t called him, I was too mad. وقلت له انني لم اتصل به ، وانا ايضا مجنون. Delious had promised that the contract would get fixed, and he failed to follow through, and now they had coerced the Oklahoma boys into signing the bad version, and he needed to answer for it. “It was still a shitty thing to do,” he said. "انه كان لا يزال shitty يجب ان نفعله". “I don’t have to explain my actions to you. "ليس لدى لشرح الاجراءات التي اتخذتها لك. It’s my company.” انها شركتي ".
Jeff jumped in, “Good luck trying to find another record company that will give you even a second glance you fat piece of shit.” وقفز في جيف ، "حظا سعيدا محاولة العثور على قياسيا آخر ان الشركة سوف اعطيكم حتى القاء نظرة ثانية لكم قطعة من الدهون اللعنه".
“Excuse me!?” I think I hit an instant warp speed 9. "عفوا!؟" اعتقد انني بلغت لحظة الاعوجاج 9 السرعه.
“We’re going to save a ton of money by replacing you, we won’t have to feed you or pay for the 15 hours a day of a personal trainer’s time,” he countered. "نحن ذاهبون لانقاذ طن من المال عن طريق استبدال لكم ، لن يكون لدينا لاطعام لكم او لدفع 15 ساعة يوميا من شخصية المدرب الوقت" تواجه.

Paul spoke up and said, “Hey guys, this is Paul Rubens. وتحدث بول وقال : "يا ايها الرجال ، وهذا هو بول روبنس. I’ve met some sleazy sacks of shit during my career, but you guys are the slimiest.” He slipped into character, “You know you guys are fucked when Pee Wee calls you sleazy. لقد اجتمع بعض sleazy كيسا من التبن وخلال حياتي المهنيه ، ولكن انتم ايها الرجال هم أكثر مخاطيه. "وقال انه انخفض الى الطابع ،" تعلمون انتم ايها الرجال عندما استغل Pee وي يدعو لكم sleazy. Heh Heh.” الاستاذ الاستاذ. "

Matt and I approached Al Cooley and Rick Blackburn sometime later. مات وانا اقترب cooley Al ريك بلاكبيرن واحيانا في وقت لاحق. They were told by Atlantic Los Angeles that it would be a bad idea for them to offer us a deal because of the tension it would cause them with South 65 and Delious’s band ‘All-4-One.’ Al seemed to be very sorry about the whole situation. قيل لهم من قبل المحيط الاطلسي لوس انجليس ان يكون فكرة سيئة بالنسبة لهم الى صفقة تتيح لنا بسبب التوتر من شأن ذلك ان يدفع لهم 65 وجنوب delious 'sالفرقة' - 4 - كل واحد. South 65 released two albums, the first of which features my voice on two songs, “To Me” and “One of a Precious Few.” I am uncredited. الافراج عن اثنين من جنوب 65 ألبومات ، وهي الاولى من السمات التي صوتي على اثنين من الأغاني ، "لي" و "واحدة من اغلى قليلة." انا uncredited.
