I called Matt and relayed Al Cooley’s message to him. دعوت مات Al cooley ونقل اليه رسالة. He was just as thrilled as I was at the prospect of signing directly to Atlantic Records. وقال انه مثلما thrilled كما كنت في امكانيه التوقيع على محاضر مباشرة الى المحيط الاطلسي. After we spoke I called Doug and Jerimy in Oklahoma. بعد ان تحدثنا انا ودعا دوغ jerimy في اوكلاهوما.

I clearly explained the situation. ومن الواضح لي ان اوضح هذه الحاله. They were a bit concerned about keeping quiet for the next two days, but didn’t foresee any problems. كانوا قليلا عن قلقها ازاء الصمت لمدة يومين ، ولكن لا يتوقع اي مشاكل. They agreed that if questioned by Delious or Jeff, they would simply say they were waiting to see what our lawyer had to say. واتفقوا على انه اذا جرى استجواب من قبل delious او جيف ، اقول ببساطة انهم كانوا ننتظر لنرى ما لدينا كان يقول المحامي.

Then I called Stephen. ثم دعوت الى ستيفن. I knew he was going to be the hardest to convince, as he had basically been cheerleading for Delious since the first meeting. وكنت اعرف انه سيكون اصعب في اقناع ، كما سبق له ان كان اساسا لفرق التشجيع delious منذ الاجتماع الأول. He remained quiet while I laid out the details of my discussion with Al. وقال انه هادءه ، ورغم أنني وضعت تفاصيل المناقشه مع شركة بي. When I finished, he simply said, “Well, if you guys want to wait, I’ll go along with you.” عندما انهيت ، لمجرد أنه قال ، "حسنا ، اذا كنت تريد ان ينتظر رجال ، أنا أذهب معكم على طول."

I slept soundly that night. كنت أنام بعمق في تلك الليلة. As soundly as I had since the day I received the first draft of the contract. كما أسس سليمة كما كان لي منذ اليوم الاول وتلقى المشروع الأول من العقد.

The phone woke me bright and early. الهاتف لي مشرق واستيقظ فى وقت مبكر. It was Matt on a conference call with Robin Mitchell Joyce, our attorney. ومن مات على الهاتف مع وروبن ميتشل جويس ، وزير العدل.

“We have a problem, Paul,” Matt said quickly. "لدينا مشكلة ، بول ،" قال مات بسرعة. “Robin got a new contract from Delious this morning.” "روبن حصلت على عقد جديد delious من صباح اليوم."

“Why is that a problem?” I asked. "لماذا هو ان مشكلة؟" طلبت. “We just have to wait until tomorrow and everything will be fine.” "نحن فقط يجب ان تنتظر حتى يوم غد وكل شيء سيكون على ما يرام".

Robin interrupted me, “The problem is that the copy they faxed to me has three of your band member’s signature on it. روبن توقف لي ، "المشكلة هي ان نسخة بالفاكس الى لي انهم ثلاثة من اعضاء الفرقة الخاصة بك توقيع عليه. There is a note attached that says you have until 5pm today to sign the contract and fax it back or they will rescind the offer and replace you.” وثمة ملاحظه ان تعلق وتقول لديك حتى الساعة الخامسة مساء اليوم لتوقيع العقد وإرسالها بالفاكس أو رجوع وسوف تلغى وتحل محل العرض لكم ".

“Shit.” "اللعنه".

“Yeah, shit.” Matt agreed. "نعم ، اللعنه" مات المتفق عليها.

“Well, what do you think we should do? "حسنا ، هل تعتقد ان ما ينبغي لنا ان نفعل؟ You are our attorney,” I asked. أنت وزير العدل ، "سالت.

“I can’t tell you guys what to do, I can only tell you that the contract hasn’t changed. "لا استطيع ان اقول لكم ماذا يفعل الرجال ، لا يسعني الا ان اقول لكم ان هذا العقد لم يتغير. These production deals are common place in pop music and with LA record companies. الانتاج هذه الصفقات المشتركة في موسيقى البوب مع مدينة لوس انجلوس وسجل الشركات. They are unheard of here in Nashville. وهي من هنا غير مسموع في ناشفيل. Record companies here like to do business in a pretty transparent and above the board way. هنا سجل الشركات مثل القيام باعمال تجارية فى جميلة وشفافة والمجلس اعلاه. Off the record, I hope you guys stand your ground and send a message that we don’t want these production deals mucking up our system.” من المحضر ، وآمل ان تكونوا رجال تقف في الميدان الخاص بك وارسال رسالة اننا لا نريد انتاج هذه الصفقات التلويث حتى نظامنا ".

Matt and I thanked her, and promised to be in touch later in the day. مات وانا وشكر لها ، ووعد بان يكون على اتصال في وقت لاحق من اليوم.

My head was swimming and I needed to think, I needed advice, and I really needed a margarita. كان رأسي السباحه واعتقد انني بحاجة الي ، احتاج المشوره ، وانا حقا في حاجة الى مارغريتا. It was only 9am, but I knew just where I could find one: Hoss’s house. ومن الساعة التاسعه صباحا فقط ، لكنني كنت اعرف فقط حيث يمكن ان تجد واحدا : منزل الحص.

You are really torturing me by spreading this story so far along. انت حقا لي تعذيب عن طريق نشر هذه القصة حتى الآن على طول. Just write it up in a novella and I will buy it, damnit. اكتبوا عنه في الروايه القصيره وانا لن شرائه ، damnit.

Yeah no kidding suspense is killing me. نعم لا المزاح المعلق هو قتل لي. Atleast give me a hint, is it a happy ending? Atleast اعطني اشارة ، هل هي النهاية السعيدة؟

ok, so i’ve read through most of the index. حسنا ، لقد قمت بذلك من خلال قراءة اكثر من مؤشر. one of the pages isn’t there any more. واحدة من الصفحات ليست هناك اي اكثر من ذلك. when do we get to hear the rest of the story?? متى نصل الى سماع بقية القصة؟؟
