I was spending more and more time with Hoss, writing music, hitting the clubs, and being introduced to some of the country music industry’s biggest names. كنت انفاق المزيد والمزيد من الوقت مع الحص والكتابة والموسيقى ، لتصل الى النوادي ، ويجري عرض لبعض من البلاد صناعة الموسيقى اكبر الاسماء.

One of my favorite persons I met during this time period was a woman by the name of Toni Wine . واحد من الاشخاص المفضل التقيت خلال هذه الفترة كان إمرأة من قبل باسم توني النبيذ. I first began to realize that she was someone that I should have known by name while attending the movie “Jerry Maguire.” اود اولا ان ندرك ان بدا انها لي ان احدهم كان ينبغي له أن يعرف بالاسم اثناء حضوره فيلم "جيري ماغواير".

You may remember the scene from the movie in which Chad, the Nanny, holds up a Miles Davis cd and declares it to be the best recording in history. ولعلكم تتذكرون مشهد من الفيلم الذي في تشاد ، ومربية الاطفال ، يحتجز أي ميل ديفيس مؤتمر نزع السلاح وتعلن انها ليكون افضل تسجيل في التاريخ. Toni leaned over and whispered to me, “My ex-husband played on that record.” طوني متكأ اكثر ومهموس لي ، "بلادي الزوج السابق لعبته على ذلك السجل."

After the movie, we headed back to Hoss’ house for margaritas and I asked Toni exactly where in the music food chain she fit in. Hoss started laughing and said, “She’s also leaving out that she’s the most successful songwriter in BMI history. الحص بدا الضحك ، وقال "انها ايضا الى ان ترك انها الشاعر الاكثر نجاحا في تاريخ BMI. You know the group The Mindbenders from the 60’s?” انت تعرف الفريق mindbenders من 60 's؟"

“Yeah,” I said. "نعم" ، قلت. “They did that song ‘Groovy Kind of Love.’” "فعلوا ذلك اغنية' Groovy النوع من الحب ".

Hoss said, “Yeah. الحص فقال : "نعم. Toni sang on that record, and she wrote that song with Carole Sager. طوني سانغ على ذلك السجل ، وكتبت ان الاغنية مع كارول Sager. I totally geeked out in my head for a while, I couldn’t even look at Toni for a few minutes. انا geeked تماما في رأسي لبعض الوقت ، حتى انني لا يمكن ان ننظر الى طوني لبضع دقائق. And then she started playing songs that I had forgotten that I knew. ثم انها بدأت اللعب الاغاني التي كنت قد نسيت ان كنت اعرف. All of them had been written by her. كل منهم قد كتب لها. Devon, Hoss and I sang harmonies and backups. ديفون ، لي سانغ الحص والانسجامات والنسخ الاحتياطيه.

I even got to sing a lead verse on ‘Groovy Kind of Love.’ حتى انني وصلت الى الغناء رائد الآية على 'Groovy النوع من الحب'.
