Some Thoughts

  • The Oscars were great. I thought the personal message to the nominees from past winners were a fantastic addition to the show.
  • I couldn’t be happier that Sean Penn and Lance Black won for Milk. Their speeches were heartfelt and moving.
  • It was so great having Hilly here for my birthday. And all my friends that showed up for dinner made it a fun night. One of my best birthdays in the last 15 years!
  • On another note, I’m really sick of the douchey behavior of many people in this corner of the blogoverse. I wish I could crawl through my computer and punch a few people. Especially those who:
    • Passive-Aggressively beg for comments or twitter followers.
    • Claim close friendships with me that don’t exist. Dude, I’ve barely heard of you.
    • Exploit the (mis)fortunes of others for their own personal gain. It’s not about you, and if you keep talking about your proximity to the situation you deserve a punch to the crotch.
  • I need some new music to listen to. I’m bored.
  • I may also be a bit cranky tonight.
In other news, Winterheart will be my guest on The Jester Show tonight. She’s getting her first book published this week and she’s going to be on hand to tell us about that. I’m sure the conversation will go in many directions, as it often does when we talk in person. Tune in at 10pm Eastern/7pm Pacific!

The Jester Show: Authors of the “I Do” Anthology Edition

Tonight’s the night we get to talk to several of the authors and the editor of “I Do” an anthology in support of marriage equality!

I’ve had a couple of days to read through the book, and so far it’s got a little bit of everything for everyone. Whether you enjoy sci-fi/fantasy stories, romance, vampires, or anything with a rainbow slant, you’re sure to find a story in the book that you enjoy.

The proceeds of this book are being donated to Lambda Legal Fund, an organization instrumental in the continued fight against the infamous California Proposition 8, which attempts to nullify thousands of marriages already performed in the state.

You may have heard me talk a little bit about Prop 8 around election time.

Possibly.

Things I Care About More Than the Superbowl

I can hardly even stand to read blogs or twitter today. In honor of my frustration, I present to you:

Things That Jester Cares About More Than the Superbowl:

  • The plight of the red-bellied salamander in the remote forest of Madagascar.
  • Madonna’s marital status.
  • Should I paint my hallway eggshell white or antique white?
  • Where do you suppose the volume knob on this busted 8-track player disappeared to?
  • The fact that the extended warranty on my high-quality vehicle is about to expire and I should really buy a new one from one of those people who call me almost daily.
  • Avitable’s singular grey pubic hair.
  • The fact that Snackiepoo will never know when her pubic hair turns grey.
  • The amount of monounsaturated fat is in the corn tortilla chip I ate two weeks ago.
  • The location of that band-aid from the third grade that I saved because the bloodstain on it was in the shape of a dollar sign.
  • A new Starland Vocal Band album.
  • Will The Ramones ever do a reunion tour?
  • Dying from some strange disease carried by that parasite that likes to travel up your urethra when you’re swimming in the Amazon.
  • The geothermic impact of soil erosion and mineral seepage in the sandstone quarries of southern Missouri.
  • The disposition of Adolf Hitler’s immortal soul.
  • At what point during this post people will figure out that I don’t give a rat’s ass about anything that has to do with this stupid sport or the celebration of the most hyped event on the planet.
