It’s time to send someone home, and I’m really worried (again) about my girl Brooke.
Last night’s show was a stinker. Downright disappointing. I love Neil Diamond.
Neil and Natasha Bedingfield are on the program tonight. Cool.
And here’s the group number starting with “Cracklin’ Rosie.” More ridiculous fucking choreography. Yikes. “Song Sung Blue” is next and Syesha is REALLY out of tune. “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show” is a real nightmare!
Worst. Group. Number. Ever.
Damage control for Paula who was confused last night by the new format. Who cares if she’s drunk or not? She’s entertaining.
Time for some results:
Jason Castro is out first to find out his fate: he’s safe tonight.
David Archuleta is next. He is also safe. Of course.
Long promo for the “So You Think You Can Dance” show. Needs more hot guys.
David Cook is out next. Gee, I wonder what his fate will be? Oh right… He’s safe.
That leaves Brooke and Syesha in the bottom two. Deja Vu.
Natasha Bedingfield is here to perform. I really liked her first album. I haven’t heard the new one yet. She’s got a great voice. Unfortunately most of her songs don’t have enough melody to show it off. This one is pretty damn good though.
And the call in portion nightmare continues this week. There was a call from Simon’s first kiss. Sweet and creepy.
Neil Diamond is here now with a new song, “Pretty Amazing Grace.” I can’t say I love this song. That being said, Neil Diamond is 67 years old and sounds exactly the same as he did when I was a kid.
Ok. Time to get send one of the girls home.
And it’s unfortunately Brooke.
She’s probably MUCH better off leaving now. She will get a great record deal and get to do an album HER way.
Torture watching Brooke sing “I Am I Said” while bawling.
*sigh*

I don’t care anymore either. The season started out with so much promise and anticipation, but it ended up being a complete letdown.
Like the weekend we spent together in that cabin in Oregon.

On a more serious note, I *totally* agree with you about the group song. It was fucking torture to listen to!
I was so angry to see brook go. I will admit that I adore David Archuleta, but Brooke has always been in my top 4. And I think she’s a much better singer than Syesha. Hell, I have to admit she’s better than Jason, too.
This season has been a treat as well as a huge disappointment. Michael Johns should never have been sent home as early as he was. Ditto Carly. And Christy Lee Cook should NEVER have stayed as long as she did. I was having visions of Sanjaya dancing in my head by the time she left.
Paula is completely absurd, and almost painful to watch.
*sigh*

I still think that the bigger problem are the artists that they are choosing. Not a big fan of Neil Diamond, but I seem to be in the minority on that one.
I wasn’t surprised by Brook, but I still don’t understand why Jason is on the show.
I am not sure I am with you that David Cook is next off. I still think he is the best. Of course, it’s probably my propensity to lean toward rock music.
David A. is very good. I just don’t see him winning. Syesha, I still like her, and still think she has an amazing voice. I guess I missed the flat notes that she hit. I don’t think she will win though, because it’s not really about people who would be great in the theatre.
Frankly, I think Jason is the next to go.

Miss Anne Derstood - They are all better singers than Syesha. She has to go.
Absurdist - The contestants don’t get to pick the mentors… it’s all about finding people who have a new album to hawk (Dolly, Mariah, Neil all have new albums out). I don’t think David Cook is next at all. My prediction is the finale will be a face off with the two Davids. Cook will win.
I am afraid to say it but I am not that sad she went. I love her but she has under performed for the last couple of weeks and her whole stop-start thing last week (again) irritated me - is she going to do that if she is performing live at one of her concerts? Sorry if that sounds harsh but shit just got REAL!
I love David Cook the most. His voice is YUM (him, not so much).

Kate - I am still sad about it. I’ve been to MANY concerts in my life. I’ve seen many big stars stop and start again. I’m a musician… occasionally there are times when you just have to do it all over.
Let Artichoke boy win, and give Cook a record deal that doesn’t turn him into Daughtry!
