I love when conservative media outlets:
1. Complain about how liberal the media is. We here this all the time; except if the media were liberal, it would not be something they’d be reporting. The louder you hear this complaint, the bigger the voice you know conservatives have.
2. Complain about how much media coverage something is getting. This makes me want to poke at things with a sharp stick.

Dave2 - It’s one thing to present a biased news report… it’s quite another to present a commentary that does everything but use the word “faggot.” It was sort of the unspoken epithet in the air.

Avitable - Everyone feels a bit uncomfortable when confronted by something that isn’t quite the “norm.” However, “freakshow” and “carnival” and “ewok” etc is way over the line.

As to the situation at hand. Yeah, it’s different and certainly not the norm, however, the ugly terms being bandied about are truly disgusting.

Winter - Lots of people have used the turkey baster method for insemination at home. The way I see it, it is her body, her decision to have a child. Her decision to legally change her gender. (I use “her” simply because I think we can all agree that by deciding to retain her female reproductive organs and carry a child it’s fair to use that pronoun.) I don’t really see it as being any different than a transgendered person having the surgery sometime after having children. It happens more often than you may realize.
Ooops, my browswer just accidentally popped over to a post that might have keywords in it like “bigger carnival transgender poking me with a stick” too. Stupid computer!

I couldn’t watch it all.
I got up to 1:40 and had to replay the next 5 seconds over and over and over. Someone please tell me she didn’t say, “cause this is gooky, this is totally gooky.” Fruedian slip? Meant to say goofy? Oo
Like I said I didn’t watch the whole thing, but the guy introducing the segment was doing a great impression of what I imagine a walking, talking penis would be like in real life.
Of course the press is going to say “pregnant man.” Oxymoron or not, it’s a more sensational headline, and will get more attention. That’s how the media rolls. The dick on the news, should already know that.

If you ask me, there wasn’t a person on that clip, except maybe Oprah, and then I’m not sure because I don’t really watch her (I do admire her business sense) that wasn’t totally fucked up. Do I think Transgendered people deserve to have children? of course. But if I were a pregnant “man”, I don’t know that I’d go on TV with it. It’s her business if she has an intact vagina. I was relieved to hear that her hormones are at normal levels. I worry about the baby’s future when the kids at school learn about her mother-father (two parents of the same gender is easier for me to swallow. not literally. eew.) And I’m sorry, I don’t think I have ever met a man who wants to be pregnant. In theory, maybe, but being able to become pregnant, in my definition, makes you a woman. Unless you are a seahorse.
The commentators? I wanted to slap the gooky cow. She is a complete ass, and the men were to busy making fun of each other to pay much attention to them.

Yes, it’s weird but they just wanted a baby, a biological child of their own. I come from some backwoods areas but luckily I was able to keep a pretty open mind about issues.
