Lee sent this to me yesterday. Thanks for the laugh, Lee.
Greetings to Everyone on this site. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Richard Pollard, and I am a longtime friend of Concerned Christian, who’s name is Rebecca. Rebecca has invited me to share my testimony with the rest of you. she and her husband, Greg were nice to invite us over for dinner and now I have the priviledge to use her computer.
The first thing that I wish to say is that it is not my intention to anger anyone on this site. The second thing is I have lived in all of your shoes as a man who once embraced the gay life. Like you, I wanted to be left alone and not be criticized for having been born with the desire for same sex attraction.
The third thing is I respect all of you as people and I have no judgmental attitudes towardwar you nor do I have a beef with anyone who currently subscribes to the gay lifestyle. To make a number of years into a very short and wonderful testimony, I simply must say that I know every argument that many of the members in the gay community makes.
I have argued all of them and even more. I read everything that I could find and then some. I studied very diligently in order that I might be able to stand with what I believed to be Christian bigots.
I had been a bused, both mentally, phyically, and once sexually when I was growing up. When I was 8 years of age, I noticed that I had same sex attractions, but didn’t understand it at all. I was too scared to tell anyone for fear that I would be ridiculed and made fun of. So I hid my feelings. I had my first gay sex at age 14 with a friend from the neighborhood.
I can’t say that I enjoyed that encounter, but it was strange and confusing. As time passed by and I aged, and had lots more of sexual encounters, something happened to me at the young ripe age of 21.
I actually enlisted in the US Marine Corp of all branches if you can believe that. I think it was because I wanted to be “manly” and macho. Upon joining the Mariens, I met a young man named Chris, and he was one of those evangelical Christians that I hated.
After getting to know him, I began to notice that he never judged me, nor did he shun my presence. Interestingly enough, he actually reached out to me with lots of love and friendship. As I observed his life, it became clear to me that something was missing in my own life.
I asked him about his faith and belief in God and all of that. He shared his faith and convictions, and told me the plan of God’s salvation. While I was still very much opposed to the Christian religion, I did give some of the claims some serious consideration.
After thinking things over and wondering if there might be some truth to what Chris was sharing with me, I asked the point blank question, “How can I know this God of whom you speak about?”
After hearing the very simple plan of salvation, I knelt beside my sofa and began to pray which I had never done or at least in any sincere way. Something happened! I remember praying to ask Jesus Christ into my life, to forgive my sins, and to accept me as His child! There was no question in my mind that God heard that prayer and I knew that when I arose from that sofa, I was not the same person!
Time and space will not allow me to share the entire story of my conversion, but I can tell you that I will never ever doubt God’s power to totally transform a human being into what and who He wants them to be. I am now 37 years old, with a beautiful wife and three awesome children. I can say with complete honesty that I have never again had any same sex attraction to anyone! God has completely healed my spirit which was badly bruised. He has transformed my way of thinking and my mind has been renewed. I simply say to all of you give the claims of Christianity every consideration that you possibly can. I am sure that you will not regret it.
I lived the gay life, I argued from many of your perspectives and was determined and confirmed in my lifestyle, that is, until love found me and saved me from a horrible former life. My dear friend, Rebecca and her husband are wonderful people who loves God and who loves people.
While your perception of her might be skewed, I can tell you that this little lady lives the life she talks about. To give my summary, all I will say is that God does love everyone of you and desires to save all of you. I do not judge you, but I know you indirectly from my past experience and I can respectfully say that the way of the gay lifestyle will bring unthinkable consequences. May God bless all of you and thank you for hearing a little something of my testimony.
TopNCal – Shh… Don’t let him hear you say that. He’s already almost insufferable with his “I’m so hot” attitude. Sheesh.
Richard Pollard – Why can’t you people stick to posting all in the same thread instead of complicating things by moving conversations across multiple pages? You can make any claims about your ex-gay “lifestyle” you want, and my only response to that is this: You are either *not gay* (you don’t have to be gay to have sex with another man) or you are a bald-faced liar. Of course the other choice is that you are both. Either way, it doesn’t really matter to me.
Killer – The Tooth Fairy could do a better job than the current administration.
Since I am so insufferably intelligent and have a “I’m so hot” attitude, I bet I could totally turn this Richard Pollard fellow. Anyone wanna take bets?! Let’s see how your god stands up to these curves baby!
You ain’t seen nothing yet!
I will now quote Lola from the fabulous musical Damn Yankees.
—————————-
I took the zing out of the King of Siam
I took the starch out of the sails
Of the Prince of Wales
It’s no great art, gettin’ the heart of a man
On a silver platter
A little brains-a little talent
With the emphasis on the latter!
I made mince-meat out of a sweet young farmer!
I knocked the fight out of a knight
When I pierced his armor
And I’ll bet, I can upset every male
In a Yale regatta!
A little brains-a little talent
With the emphasis on the latta!

And Lee does a mighty fine dance to that song. I have had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of said sexy dance. Hot, hot, hot! No one (gay, straight, or otherwise) can resist!
Lee – Just when I think you couldn’t get any gayer you break out into a show tune. I just love that about you. At some point you’re going to start shitting rainbows. Take lots of pictures.
Sly – I take it you have been seduced by the wily ways of the Western American Strutting Homosexual (Splendiferous rainbowass)?
One time I was at a group meeting at work and we were just cleaning up the food that we had during the meeting. For some reason, there was a bunch of bright pink dots on the table, like someone had been punching holes in bright pink paper. Since there was no pink paper at this meeting, everyone examined it in confusion. All I could think to say was “Oh, that’s me! I’m just SO freakin gay, that when I sneeze, that’s what comes out!”
Richard, I have to agree with Jester. It could be that your abuse left you confused about what gender you are supposed to be attracted to. 14 is a young age to make up your mind about these things. Your mind and emotions have so much growing to do! You may never have actually been gay. Have you considered the idea that God came into your life, not to cure you of being Gay, but perhaps to help you heal from your emotional wounds and help you into the life you are supposed to be living so that you can create wonderful children and be a loving husband. Being Gay is not an affliction. Wait, what was that?
Being Gay is NOT an affliction. You cannot heal it. You can hide it, but it’s part of who you are. What, What?
PART of who you are. It doesn’t define who people are. It doesn’t make them bad, or evil. I have been fortunate to know any wonderful gay folks. Some of them are now loving parents. Some work hard for the community. Jester brrings laughter into my life almost every day. There is no evil in kindness. No sin in bringing joy. Despite being painted previously as an idiot by your friend, I want you to know that I am happy to know that you found a way to overcome your childhood and are living a healthy life. So many abused children don’t make it. But not every Gay person was abused. Not every abused child is Gay. And as was pointed out, not everyone who has same gender sex is Gay. Some are confused. Some are curious.
Lee – That funniest part of that story is the fact that a significant number of the people you work with would fully believe you sneeze pink polka dots.
ginamonster – I see you’re trying to regain your position as a top commenter! Way to go! Excellent comment and breakdown.
The pink polka dots sneeze isn’t THAT far from the truth. I just think it’s wonderful that I work somewhere that I can totally be myself and it’s completely accepted.
I think we’re all just trying to get CC out of the top commenter list…
Lee – Yeah, I do appreciate the atmosphere. I’m happy to get CC out of the Top Commenter list.
Commenluv is something I’m trying out for people who comment here. If you have a blog, Commentluv will grab the headline from your latest post and create a link to it. It’s a way to promote all those fabulous people who interact here. If you had a blog, you’d benefit from it, too!

I have found the best way to counter this is to refuse to believe in congress.
I’ve never received anything from them, so every election cycle I write in “Tooth Fairy” because she at least has made me richer.
TopNCal – Shh… Don’t let him hear you say that. He’s already almost insufferable with his “I’m so hot” attitude. Sheesh.
