Avitable posted a really foul, disgusting, horrifying, and generally reprehensible video the other day.
Avitable himself admitted to only being able to watch 20 seconds of it. That should tell you something.
I was able to watch the whole thing and while I did feel repulsed, it didn’t make me sick to my stomach like it did many other people who saw it.
You may remember that I was once a paramedic who has seen nearly everything. And I’ve been doused with just about every imaginable fluid in the line of duty. It wasn’t pleasant, but it came with the territory. It takes a lot to “bug” me.
Don’t get me wrong, I am certainly not advising you to check out the infamous video. If you are even mildly curious as to the content of the video, you need only read the comments on Avi’s post for a “blow by blow” so to speak.
All of that being said, there’s a video that has been floating around for a little while that makes me squirm.
It involves a curious little creature called the “Bot Fly.” The bot fly larva enters the body via a mosquito bite, where it grows and develops for up to eight weeks.
Under your skin.
The larva secretes an antibiotic that keeps the wound open and infection free for breathing access. Your only options to get rid of it are either to let it mature and leave your body all on its own, or, you could place duct tape over the wound to cut off the larva’s air supply and bring it closer to the surface where you can slowly pull it out. This process is complicated, since the larva’s body is covered in rings of backward-facing spines.
This video might illustrate the issue much clearer than I can.
I know I’m a day early for Halloween, but that shit is scary.

really, jester? scary you say? are you refering to the fly larva under the skin or to the weird hair growth pattern on that guy’s back?
i think they would have been happier if they found corn kernels instead.
Yeah, that doesn’t really faze me - I saw one where the worm coming out of a guy’s back was like a foot and a half long - that was crazy.
It’s more the oral exchange of vomit and shit that gets to me - I can handle anything else.
i’m not so sure i wanna watch this video. wussed out & didn’t watch avi’s…might do the same here. yinz ain’t right. but yet i still love you. interesting…

That wasn’t bad at all. I thought it was really interesting. Probably VERY painful (I didn’t have the sound on) But overall..you guy are p….silly
oh… so I AM very squeamish… and i’m already having issues just reading about this without having watched the video. I think if I watch the video, I would have to up my meds

Avitable - The foot and a half worm is a different bug. And be careful what you state… I’m sure I can find something that is worse than the Roman Shower video.
hello - This video isn’t nearly as bad as the Roman Shower. It’s still creepy. Especially the holes left behind.
Miss Britt - If you put your head in the sand, doesn’t that leave the rest of you sort of exposed? Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I’d just be a bit more careful since you are now in such close proximity to Avi.

I think all the women on this should be offended by you calling me a girl! I admit it! I’m not good with bug stuff. Blood, vomit, various other bodily fluids, I’m fine with. I just can’t do bugs. Lee - I didn’t say that being a big girl was a negative thing. If you’re fine with various other bodily fluids, perhaps you should check out Avitable’s Roman Shower video. (Like how I call it Avitable’s as though he is responsible for it?) I don’t plan on “giving you a corpse.” I’ll help you bury one, but I won’t provide it.

See! I liked it too..well I didn’t LIKE it, but I thought it was very interesting and would kind of like to see what it looks like in person.

Branden - You could go to Peru or Panama and pick up a bot fly of your very own… then you could describe the sensation, as well.
